Thanks, Mom (I guess)

I’m so grateful that I have so many traits and features from my mom. But one thing I’m less than grateful for is the eczema I have on my hands. My mom got it on some of her fingers, too, and I’m pretty sure it’s a genetic thing I’ve inherited from her. Thanks, Mom!

But… I have to say, every time the eczema flares ip (which is very often in the winter), I think of my mom and chuckle. Because if she were here, I’d be complaining about it to her, probably dramatically, and she’d sympathize with me and tell me what cream to put on it. She was the most supportive and caring mom there was.

Even though I wish I didn’t have the eczema, I think it just reminds me that I came from her. And I’ll take as many of those reminders as I can get.

It’s funny how something so small can make me miss her so much.

I love you, Mom, I’m so glad I came from you… even the annoying eczema.
