Do you believe in signs from loved ones who have passed away? Like seeing a dime and believing it’s a sign you’re on the right path, or a hawk being a messenger from heaven?
I feel closest to my mom when I’m at our family’s houseboat, as so many things there remind me of her. This week, I’ve taken a few days off work to spend in solitude at the houseboat. On my first night alone, the weather was absolutely gorgeous. The water was as smooth as glass, the temperature perfect, and I witnessed the most beautiful sunset—a wonderful combination of everything that reminds me of my mom.
As I sat in my kayak, watching the sky turn shades of pink and orange, I couldn’t help but feel Mom's presence. It was as if she was there with me, sharing that perfect moment. The birds were chirping, the sound of water lapping against the lake from my paddle, the vibrant colors of the sunset — these elements felt like they were orchestrated just for me, a message from my mom letting me know she’s still with me, watching over me.
So, while I'm unsure if it classifies as a "sign," moments like these bring me peace and a profound sense of closeness to my mom that I cherish deeply.
Grief is a personal journey, and finding ways to feel connected to our loved ones can be incredibly healing. Whether through a sunset, a favorite song playing unexpectedly, or a special place filled with cherished memories, these moments can provide comfort and remind us that our loved ones are always with us in spirit.
Do you believe in signs from your loved ones? Have you experienced moments that felt like messages from heaven? I’d love to hear your stories and how these signs have brought you comfort.
