How Are You? "Good"

Deep, intense grief - where every moment feels heavy, and the future is clouded with uncertainty. For a long time in my grief journey, one of the most challenging aspects I faced was grappling with the belief that I might never feel 'good' again. The automatic response of saying "good" when asked how I was became a distant memory - I couldn't muster the simple word, not even on autopilot.

I vividly recall the moment when, after 17 months of mourning my mom's passing, autopilot kicked back in, and I found myself uttering "good" in response to the routine question of well-being. It was a turning point, a glimmer of light breaking through the dense clouds of grief.

The journey through grief is intense, marked by profound darkness and the gradual emergence of light. The fear that we might never reclaim a sense of normalcy can be overwhelming, but healing is a journey, not a destination. Rediscovering 'good' in the wake of grief is a testament to our ability to be resilient, and even in the face of profound loss, there is hope for brighter days ahead.
